Service Description

Arbitration (7-hour proceeding) is designed to effectively resolve contested family law matters through neutral third-party determination. Arbitration allows parties to present testimony, evidence, and legal argument for a final determination by the arbitrator. Arbitration may be appropriate for divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, property division, parenting matters, child support, maintenance, post-decree enforcement or modifications, and other domestic relations matters. Arbitration is conducted by a Colorado attorney serving as an impartial third-party arbitrator.

Scheduling Policy

Submitting a scheduling request does not confirm service. All scheduling requests are subject to conflict screening, administrative review, execution of the required service agreement, and payment of the required scheduling fee. A non-refundable scheduling fee of $500 per Party is required. The scheduling fee is applied to each Party’s total service fee, and is earned upon receipt for scheduling coordination, administrative review, and reserving the arbitrator’s availability. Each Party’s total service fee is due no later than 14 days before the scheduled service. Cancellations or rescheduling requests received more than 7 days before the scheduled service are eligible for a refund of all service fees paid, less the non-refundable scheduling fee. Cancellations or rescheduling requests received 7 or fewer days before the scheduled service are not eligible for a refund. The total service fee includes scheduling coordination, administrative review, reasonable preparation, and the time reserved for your scheduled arbitration proceeding. Professional services required following the completion of the arbitration proceeding, including post-hearing review, legal analysis, deliberation, drafting of written findings, and/or issuance of a written arbitration award, are billed separately at $500 per hour, allocated equally between participating parties. Complete terms are provided in the Dispute Resolution Service Agreement. Arbitration is a structured out-of-court dispute resolution process designed to resolve contested family law disputes through final and binding determination by an impartial arbitrator. Proceedings occur by secure video conference unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. Participating Parties are generally expected to attend the arbitration proceeding. Parties represented by legal counsel may have their attorney represent them throughout the arbitration process. Parley Mediation & Arbitration serves as a neutral third party and does not provide legal representation, legal advice, or advocacy for any participant involved in the dispute resolution process. Participants are encouraged to consult independent legal counsel regarding their legal rights and obligations.
